Warwick Folk Festival 23-25 July 2010

Warwick Folk Festival attracts an impressive line-up of singers, bands, street performers and Morris dancers to the leafy grounds of Warwick School.

Always well attended, it's one of the most popular folk events in the country. Since its humble beginnings in 1979, the festival has developed into one of the most highly regarded folk events, attracting fans from all over Britain. The main performance marquee and the Bridgehouse Theatre for intimate acoustic shows are found at Warwick School, along with ceilidhs, workshops and a craft fair. There is also a full entertainment programme for children.

Once again, in 2010, the festival attracts some of the best artists on the folk scene, including John Tams and Barry Coope, Jim Moray and Breabach.

About Warwick Folk Festival ....

MAIN VENUE

Warwick School, the main festival location and campsite, contains the main marquee for headline concerts, the purpose-built Bridgehouse Theatre for intimate acoustic concerts, the Guy Nelson Hall for ceilidhs and workshops, a weekend craft fair and on-site catering.

TOWN

Buzzing with activity throughout the weekend, Warwick town centre - a short walk or free festival shuttle bus ride from the main venue – plays host to dance tours, mumming plays, pub sessions and concerts.

FAMILIES

Our objective at Warwick is to provide a festival which caters for all the family from the oldest to the youngest. Younger visitors to the Festival can participate in a specially-devised programme of entertainment, craft, dancing and music-making - all of which is provided on the main Festival site. There's good news for parents too! Under tens are free, AND we offer a family weekend ticket giving a bargain price for two adults and one or more juniors - see Ticket information for further details.

DISABLED VISITORS

The Festival uses a wide range of venues over the weekend, and almost all are suitable for disabled visitors. Disabled toilet facilities are also available on site. We are more than happy to answer any specific queries and make special arrangements if necessary - please telephone the Admin Office on the number in the footer.

DOGS

Since Warwick Folk Festival is based on a school site and the festival campsite and concert marquee are both on the school's playing fields, we accept and respect the ban on dogs imposed by the school. The Festival Committee feels certain that visitors will understand that the ban is in place for health and safety reasons, and that it applies to the whole school grounds.
