The Easy Guide to Cheltenham

Cheltenham is a beautiful spa town situated on the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. The town is known for its stunning Regency architecture which many believe makes it the most complete regency town in England.

Cheltenham is also famous for being the home to the Cheltenham Gold Cup which takes place in March as part of the Cheltenham Festival. The festival attracts huge numbers of visitors every year who bet hundreds of millions of pounds over the duration of the festival.

The town’s wealth was established from tourism which grew from the discovery of the town’s mineral springs in 1716 which led to a visit by King George III and visitors wanting to follow in his footsteps can still taste the natural spring water at the Pittville Pump Room.

Cheltenham is a vibrant place to visit with excellent shopping on offer from the boutiques of Montpellier to the department stores and shopping arcades. A fine selection of restaurants which include the Michelin two-star restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage and a vibrant range of night life and entertainment.

Whatever you’re looking for Cheltenham has something to offer. We hope our guide will help you make the most of your time in Cheltenham.
