Crowds come out to cheer on the runners

The Stratford Marathon and Half Marathon organised by the Rotary Club of Stratford-upon-Avon saw another great turnout this year as the crowds gathered to enjoy the sunshine and cheer on the runners.

This years race that forms part of the annual Shakespeare's birthday celebrations was forecast to be one of the hottest in recent times but in true british weather style it started with a light shower.

Things hotted up towards the end though to ensure that the runners had their stamina tested to the full. Well done to all the runners this year in both the Full and Half Marathon,s many of which took the opportunity to raise money for charity and worthwhile causes.

Congratulations go to Paul Davies of Centurion RC who won the full marathon with an impressive time of 2:48:02 and to James Griggs of Coventry Godiva Harr with a winning time of 1:13:43.
